• How do I make a booking?
  Ireland-Cottages is not a booking agency. To make a booking, go to the details of the property that interests you. There you will find contact details for making bookings.
• Do I have to register to use this website?
  No. Registration is completely optional. Registering gives you access to additional features such as bookmarks.
• Does it cost anything to register?
  No. Registration is free. We only charge if you decide to add your property to the website, but even then you can upload your details and see what your listing is going to look like before you have to pay anything. At the moment, we're also offering a free trial period of 9 months.
• How much does it cost to add a listing?
  Take a look at our For Owners page for details.
• Why are some counties not listed on the search page?
  We only list counties which have properties listed. If you're planning to add a property to a county that's not listed, don't worry. That county will appear as soon as your listing is active.

Registration and login problems

• I've forgotten my Username or Password.
  Go to our reminder page and we'll send you your details by email.
• I've registered, now what?
  Once you've registered, your account will be created with Guest status. While you're a guest, we need to validate your email address. We do this by sending you an email with a validation code. Follow the instructions in the email to validate your email address.
  
  Once you've validated your email address, your status will change to Standard. Standard users can use most of the special features on the website.
  
  If you plan to add your property to the website, you'll need to upgrade your status to Advertiser.
• How do I find out the status of my account?
  First you need to login using your Username and Password. Next go to 'Your Details' where you can view your Membership Details. Your account status is shown a few lines down.
• I've registered, but I've not received a validation email
  If this happens, go to your Membership Details (see above) and check your status.
  
  If we've been unable to deliver your validation email, there may be a warning shown.
  
  If your Account Status is still set to Guest, you will see a link underneath the status which allows you to check the email address you supplied, change it if necessary and then request a new validation email to be sent.
  
  If your Account Status is Standard or Advertiser, then your email address has been validated.
• I want to add a listing for my property, but cannot see how to do this
  First you need to register and validate your account (see above).
  
  Once registered and validated, you need to upgrade your account to Advertiser. To do this, go to 'Your Details'. At the foot of this page you'll see a button marked 'UPGRADE MEMBERSHIP TO ADVERTISER'. Click this and you'll be prompted to check your details before the upgrade takes place.
  
  Having upgraded your status to Advertiser, go back to 'Your Details' where you'll find a button to 'Add a property'. Click this and follow the on-screen instructions.

Website features

• How do I use the site bookmarks?
  Once you've registered and validated your account, you'll notice that listings have a 'Click to Bookmark' button in the top right hand corner. Click this and the listing will be bookmarked.
  
  Once you've added a bookmark, you'll find an area just under the main image which, if you click, you'll be able to add your own private comments.
  
  Go to Bookmarks where you'll be able to view all of the properties you've selected.
• Can anyone else see my bookmarks?
  No. Only you can see the bookmarks and comments you've added. You will need to be logged-in to view these. We plan to add a feature to allow you to share bookmarks in the future.

Advertiser Questions

• I'm interested in advertising on Ireland-Cottages, what do I do next?
  Ireland-Cottages is designed to be completely self-service, this means you upload your details yourself. If you've not already registered on this website, visit the registration page and create yourself an account. Once you've registered and completed a short validation process, you can upgrade your membership to 'Advertiser' and begin adding details for your property.
• I don't have the time/knowledge to enter my detals myself.
  Can you create the listing for me?
  We are able to keep the costs for advertising on Ireland-Cottages low because we have designed a system to allow users to manage their own lisitngs. Ireland-Cottages is designed to be completely self-service. If you've made it this far, you probably have the knowledge to add your listing. The system we have designed is easy to use and guides your through the process.
  
  If you are really unable to add the details yourself, we can provide a 'keying' service. This involves someone entering the details on your behalf. We charge a fee for this service which is operated under slightly different terms. If you'd like more details of this service, please 'contact us'.
