Belturbet is an Angling and Boating centre and a fast growing tourism resort. Course fish abound in the many lakes.
The Church of Ireland in Belturbet is 17th century planters' Gothic. Turbet Island's motte was erected by Walter de Lacy in 1211.
Belturbet owes its name to Sir Stephen Butler who obtained a Corporation Status from James 1 in 1613. The Erne Lake country & renowned Shannon Waterway invite Visitors to absorb unspoiled Countryside by hiring their own cruiser or availing of waterbus exursions.
